Blazon

A gold metal and enamel device 1-1/8 inches in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Gules, two piles in point one to dexter and one to sinister throughout Or, a chief chevroned reversed of the second surmounted by between two Native American arrowheads Azure a stylized descending bomb of the last throughout bearing a climbing Gila monster embowed Or.Attached below the shield, a red scroll, doubled blue, inscribed "PRIMED TO WIN" in gold letters.


Symbolism

Crimson and Yellow are the Ordnance branch colors.  The descending bomb encompasses the Battalion’s role and capabilities of supplying weaponry.  The Gila monster symbolizes lethality and the endurance to accomplish missions within hostile environments.  The arrowheads further emphasize perseverance.  The sunrays point to the Battalion’s operating location of Arizona

The distinctive unit insignia for the 157th Ordnance Battalion was approved on 15 April 2024.

Shield.  Or, four piles in point two to dexter and two to sinister throughout Sanguine, a chief chevroned reversed Azure bearing between two Native American arrowheads of the first overall a descending stylized bomb palewise counterchanged charged in base with a silhouette of a Gila monster embowed Or.

Crest.  That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Arizona Army National Guard:  From a wreath Or and Gules, a giant cactus Proper.

Motto:  PRIMED TO WIN.

 

 


Symbolism

Shield.  Crimson and Yellow are the colors of Ordnance Battalions. The blue chevroned chief and counterchanged bomb embody the mission and expertise of the Battalion.  The venomous Gila monster emphasizes the lethal weapons supplied to Army combat units.  The Native American arrowheads point to the Battalion’s unyielding commitment to the Arizona Army National Guard.  The sunburst is adapted from the state Flag of Arizona and further resembles the incoming impact of the falling bomb.  

Crest.  The crest is that of the Arizona Army National Guard.
